Refugee Support
The shocking tragedy affecting millions of children in Africa includes the horror of the Darfur, Sudan genocide where millions of children’s lives are at risk and thousands have already died. Thousands of refugees have flooded into surrounding regions desperate for food, clean water, shelter and clothing.
Other areas of Africa have also been stricken with the horrible conditions of famine, disease and civil war and cannot support this increase in population. Precious children waste away to skeletal conditions, hanging on to the bare breath of life. Over 80% of the population does not have access to clean water while curable diseases ravage the bodies of the already weakened children. Gandhi World Hunger Fund provides life saving medical and food relief to these areas of greatest need and crisis.
